Remove deep scratches and heavy oxidation in one step - with Koch-Chemie Heavy Quick Cut "B9.01" Heavy Abrasive Polish
Koch-Chemie Heavy Quick Cut "B9.01" is a powerful abrasive polish with an abrasive rating of 9.0 for machine correction of deep scratches, heavy oxidation, and coarse sanding marks from P1500 grit - silicone-oil-free, suitable for all types of paint, and designed as the first stage in the multi-step Koch-Chemie polishing process.
- Abrasive rating 9.0 maximum abrasive effect in the polish portfolio — for deep scratches, heavy oxidation, and coarse sanding marks from P1500.
- Silicone-oil-free, compatible with all coatings — no silicone-containing fillers that mask paint defects instead of correcting them.
- Low dust and splatter development — developed for clean work with rotary and orbital polishers without excessive contamination.
What is a Heavy Cut Polish needed for - and when is it the right choice?
In the Koch-Chemie polishing system, the Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 is the most aggressive tool in the polish arsenal. With an abrasive rating of 9.0, it is designed for paint conditions where finer polishes like Fine Cut F6.01 or the Lack-Polish range simply don't cut deep enough. Typical application situations: heavily oxidized paint on old vehicles, deep holograms after several years of car wash visits, coarse sanding marks after wet sanding (from P1500 grit), scratches that extend beyond the clear coat layer, or as a first step in complete paint correction. The difference to simple polishing pastes lies in the abrasive particle size and hardness - the B9.01 actually removes material instead of just filling defects. Therefore, a note: after B9.01, always follow with a fine polishing step with Fine Cut F6.01 or Micro Cut & Finish P3.01 to polish out the micro-scratches created by the Heavy Cut.
Machine selection and pad recommendation for maximum cutting performance
The B9.01 shows its strongest performance with a rotary polisher and a Heavy Cut Pad (hard foam pad or lamb's wool pad). Rotary machines generate more heat and friction through the combined rotating and oscillating motion - which activates the abrasive particles of the B9.01 more effectively. The B9.01 can also be used with an orbital polisher and a corresponding Heavy Cut Pad, although the abrasive effect is less than with a rotary machine. Apply five pea-sized drops to the pad, spread at low speed, then work in a cross-hatch pattern with medium pressure and medium speed. Do not let the polish dry.
Silicone-oil-free - why this is important for professional paint correction
Many cheaper abrasive polishes contain silicone oils as fillers: they optically mask micro-scratches without actually removing them - the result looks fresh, but the defects are still present and reappear after a few weeks. Silicone oils also interfere with the adhesion of sealants and ceramic coatings. The Koch-Chemie B9.01 is formulated silicone-oil-free - what it shows after application is the actual polishing result, not a masked impression. Nevertheless, before sealing after B9.01, degrease with Panel Preparation Spray PPS - even silicone-free polishes leave carrier substances on the paint.
Detailing1 Pro Tip: Always start with B9.01 on a small test area — with sensitive or thin clear coats (many modern vehicles from 2015), an abrasive rating of 9.0 can lead to burn-throughs if too much pressure is applied or the wrong machine is chosen. Start at a low machine speed, check the result under light, then gradually increase. For vehicles with unknown paint thickness, it's better to use Fine Cut F6.01 and only use B9.01 when significant abrasion is absolutely necessary.
Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 in comparison — when is Fine Cut F6.01 sufficient?
If you are unsure whether you need B9.01 or Fine Cut F6.01, you should use the following rule of thumb: If a scratch can be felt with your fingernail (not just seen), B9.01 is necessary. Scratches that are only visible under strong cold light illumination can usually be removed with F6.01 or even Micro Cut P3.01. B9.01 is not an everyday tool - it is a specialized tool for severe paint correction cases. For regular touch-up work on well-maintained vehicles, Lack-Polish violet P2.03 is the more efficient choice.
Who is Koch-Chemie Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 the right choice for?
For professional detailers and ambitious hobby detailers who are serious about paint correction. Anyone who restores old vehicles with heavily weathered paint, works on accident damage after repainting, or polishes out sanding marks after wet sanding needs B9.01 as the first tool in a multi-step polishing process. The 250 ml container is ideal for occasional single jobs; the 1,000 ml container is worthwhile for businesses that regularly perform paint correction work.
Frequently Asked Questions about Heavy Quick Cut "B9.01" Abrasive Polish
What is Koch-Chemie Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 and what is it used for?
Koch-Chemie Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 is a strong abrasive polish with an abrasive rating of 9.0 for machine correction of deep scratches, heavy paint oxidation, and coarse sanding marks from P1500 grit. It is used as the first stage in a multi-step polishing process, followed by fine polishes to remove the micro-scratches left by the Heavy Cut.
Which machine and pad do I need for B9.01?
Optimal results are achieved with a rotary polisher and a Heavy Cut Pad (hard) or lamb's wool pad at medium speed. Orbital polishers can also be used, but provide less cutting performance. Apply five pea-sized drops to the pad, spread at low speed, then work in a cross-hatch pattern with medium pressure.
Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 vs. Fine Cut F6.01 — what's the difference?
B9.01 (abrasive rating 9.0) is for deep scratches and heavy oxidation — defects that are tangible with a fingernail or heavily weathered paint. Fine Cut F6.01 (abrasive rating 6.0) is sufficient for medium scratches and normal weathering. General rule: scratches only visible but not tangible? Fine Cut. Scratches deep and tangible? Heavy Cut.
Does B9.01 need to be followed by another polish?
Yes — due to its high abrasive rating, B9.01 leaves its own micro-scratches in the paint, which are visible to the naked eye as dull sanding marks. Always follow up with a fine polish (Fine Cut F6.01, Micro Cut P3.01, or Lack-Polish violet P2.03) to achieve a high-gloss, defect-free finish.
Is Heavy Quick Cut B9.01 also worthwhile for hobby detailers?
Yes, if genuine paint correction work is necessary — heavily weathered vehicles, scratches after accidents, or coarse sanding marks. For simple touch-ups or vehicles in well-maintained condition, B9.01 is too aggressive. The 250 ml container is ideal for occasional single jobs. A test patch is recommended before the first use.
