THE FINISHER × Koch-Chemie „HelloWhite“ — Anti-Yellowing for clear waterlines & fresh white tones

How does HelloWhite work? — The anti-yellowing agent chemically dissolves waterline-related yellowing and light rust/harbor film, restores white tones to gelcoat and shiny painted surfaces, rinses off neutrally, and serves as a targeted intermediate step before protection with WaxPolish or BodyGuard.

THE FINISHER HelloWhite Anti-Yellowing is your targeted stain remover against gelcoat yellowing on the waterline, bow, transom, and around fittings. The highly effective, controlled evaporating formula softens organic “tea stains” and light metal/harbor film, allowing them to be rinsed off without harsh mechanical action. After treatment, the surface appears visibly fresher and provides an ideal base for a wax- or spray-based finish. In the system, THE FINISHER HelloWhite Anti-Yellowing is positioned between the main wash (CleanMarine) and protection (WaxPolish/BodyGuard) – precisely where the gelcoat shows optically "re-yellowed" shadows.

  • Targeted yellowing removal: controlled dissolution of waterline yellowing and light rust/harbor film – without extensive sanding and without gray residue.
  • Clean handling: wets evenly, works quickly, rinses off neutrally; ideal for partial areas instead of "all or nothing."
  • System-fit Marine: use after CleanMarine, then secure with WaxPolish (deep gloss) or BodyGuard (hydrophobicity).

Anti-Yellowing – Cause, Principle of Action & Material Understanding

Anti-Yellowing addresses typical gelcoat yellowing ("tea stains") resulting from salts, organic residues, and light metal traces. THE FINISHER HelloWhite Anti-Yellowing applies highly wetting active ingredients, chemically dissolves the discolored layer, and makes it removable with water. Because the formulation evaporates in a controlled manner, you work quickly, precisely, and without dried-on edges. Suitable for smooth gelcoat and high-gloss, marine-painted panels; non-skid, vinyl, teak, and polycarbonate/acrylic windows are excluded to maintain correct material-specific feel and appearance.

Application on board – Waterline, Fittings & Transom

Application begins with a clean base: Wash the boat in the shade with CleanMarine and rinse with fresh water. Apply HelloWhite section by section from bottom to top onto the wet surface by spraying or with a pad, allow to work for 1–3 minutes (do not let it dry), gently agitate with a soft pad/brush if necessary, then rinse generously with fresh water. Work quickly around metal fittings, drain edges, and trailer bunks, removing excess immediately. Afterwards, a short re-wash/rinse is recommended to neutralize the pH balance – now the surface is ready for WaxPolish or BodyGuard.

Results, Limitations & Protection Build-up

The result is a visibly brightened, homogeneous white/light surface without yellow shadows – ideal "before protection." Limitations: deep oxidation, hard deposits, and older, dark brown waterlines require prior polishing (PerfectOne) or localized sanding by professionals. After HelloWhite, visually saturate the effect with WaxPolish or hydrophobically protect it with BodyGuard; regular washes with CleanMarine prevent rapid re-accumulation. For vinyl upholstery, VinylTexClean/VinylGuard remains responsible; windows are handled by SeaYou – this keeps the care plan clearly separated and reproducible.

Frequently Asked Questions about THE FINISHER × Koch-Chemie „HelloWhite“ — Anti-Yellowing

On which surfaces do I use HelloWhite?

On smooth gelcoat and shiny, marine-painted panels on the waterline, bow, and transom. Do not use on non-skid, teak, vinyl, or plastic windows.

How long should I let it dwell?

1–3 minutes in the shade. Do not let the product dry; work more quickly in warm conditions and possibly mist again. Always rinse generously with fresh water afterwards.

Do I need to neutralize?

A thorough rinse and a short re-wash with CleanMarine are sufficient. Rinse cloths/pads with fresh water afterwards.

Does HelloWhite also remove rust spots?

Light rust shadows, yes. Deep pinpoint corrosion or surface rust spots require careful polishing (e.g., PerfectOne) or specialized treatment, depending on the material.

What is the sensible order?

Wash with CleanMarine → targeted de-yellowing with HelloWhite → rinse/re-wash → WaxPolish (deep gloss) or BodyGuard (hydrophobicity). Treat windows/vinyl separately.
