COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Jaguar) is a special care dye for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Jaguar leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuck Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formula is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent it from sticking together.

💡 Practical tip from Detailing1 workshop: With Jaguar suede seats, we often see the same user error — customers treat suede with normal smooth leather care, which then causes the fibers to stick together and look matted. With Nubuck Fresh (Jaguar) and a fine brass brush in 5 minutes of care, the typical velour appearance is maintained. After drying, brush lightly again — and the fiber will be velvety again.

Dry brush, spray, work in the direction of the fibers

Nubuk Fresh (Jaguar) is sprayed evenly onto the suede from a distance of 20–30 cm with a spray bottle and worked in with a soft brush in the direction of the fibers. After drying, brush again for the typical velour look.

Before care, the suede is dry-brushed with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush to remove dust and stubborn dirt. Then, it is wet-cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Jaguar) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — no puddling, spread immediately.

The color is worked in with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush in the direction of the fibers until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly brushed again so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour appearance is created. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for about 4–5 care applications on mid-range vehicles with Alcantara steering wheels and suede seats.

Suede and velour yes, smooth leather no

Nubuk Fresh (Jaguar) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Jaguar smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes binds with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would appear spotty instead of uniform. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Jaguar vehicle has real suede seats, Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care. If the interior, on the other hand, consists of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Jaguar) or Leather Colour (Jaguar) is used. For mixed upholstery (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.

Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep dirt penetration and protects the fibers from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month rhythm is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are about 6 euros in material costs.
