What is COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather for Range Rover? — The highly pigmented repair dye in a 20 ml tube is ideal for precise damage repair on Range Rover leather — without elaborate spray equipment.
COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is a liquid, highly pigmented leather repair dye in a 20 ml tube — specially developed for the precise repair of small damaged areas such as cracks, scratches, and color abrasion on Range Rover leather interiors. The dye is based on original Range Rover color samples and can be applied precisely with a brush or sponge.
💡 Practical tip from Detailing1 Workshop: We use Fluid Leather (Range Rover) in the workshop for steering wheel repairs — classic 12 o'clock abrasion. One tube is enough for 5–8 steering wheel repairs. Use a soft-bristled brush, dab in a cross-hatch pattern, allow 30 minutes to dry between layers, apply Top Coat Dull — the result is indistinguishable from new.
Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is applied directly from the 20 ml tube onto a soft brush or sponge and dabbed onto the repair area in 1–2 thin coats in a cross-hatch pattern. Allow 20–30 minutes to dry between coats, then seal with Top Coat at the end.
Before repair, the damaged area is cleaned with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Deeper cracks are first filled with Filler or Super Filler and sanded smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The highly pigmented Fluid Leather (Range Rover) solution is then precisely dabbed onto the prepared area — applying in thin, cross-hatched layers provides better coverage than a single thick application.
After complete drying for about 4 hours, seal with Top Coat Dull or Glossy to make the repair abrasion-resistant. One 20 ml tube is sufficient for 5–8 steering wheel repairs or approximately 15 spot crack repairs. Workshop costs per repair are around 10 Euros, a full steering wheel restoration takes approx. 3 hours including drying.
Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is the special solution for spot repairs — individual cracks, scratches, or smaller abrasions up to approximately 5x5 cm. Large-area repairs require Leather Colour in 250 ml or 1-liter containers.
The high pigmentation and tube format make Fluid Leather extremely economical and precise — even on dark leather, one coat is often enough for full coverage. However, for repairs over 5x5 cm or entire seat bolsters, the tube content would not be sufficient, and manual dabbing would be uneconomical. Suede and velour surfaces require Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) anyway, as Fluid Leather would glue the rough texture.
If only 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks are to be repaired, Fluid Leather is the most economical and precise choice. If entire seating groups, steering wheels, or door panels are to be restored, it is worth switching to Leather Colour (Range Rover) or the Complete Repair Set (Range Rover) with all components.
Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is the workshop solution for targeted spot repairs — for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who want to precisely repair steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks.
When reconditioning used vehicles, 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion is a classic. A tube of Fluid Leather costs about 67 Euros and is sufficient for 5–8 steering wheel repairs — this amounts to material costs of approximately 10 Euros per repair. With a brush and Top Coat, the total repair effort per steering wheel is 3 hours including drying. The result is indistinguishable from a new steering wheel after 2 weeks of use.
For pure care without damaged areas, Fluid Leather is the wrong approach — Leather Fresh (Range Rover) is sufficient there. For complete seat bolsters or entire components, it is worth switching to Leather Colour. However, for those who want to precisely repair individual damaged areas with OEM color accuracy, the 20 ml tube is the most economical and precise tool from the COLOURLOCK range.

COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is a highly pigmented, liquid leather repair paint in a 20 ml tube. It is used for precise repair of small damaged areas on Range Rover leather — cracks, scratches, color abrasion.
Clean and degrease the damaged area, level with filler if necessary and sand. Apply Fluid Leather directly from the tube onto a brush/sponge and dab precisely onto the repair area. Let it dry, apply a second coat if necessary, then seal with Top Coat.
Fluid Leather (Range Rover) has significantly higher pigmentation and comes in a 20 ml tube — perfect for spot repairs. Leather Colour is available in 250 ml or 1 liter and is sprayed/wiped for large-area applications. For a single crack → Fluid Leather, for an entire seat surface → Leather Colour.
Yes — Fluid Leather has no sealant of its own. Without Top Coat, the repair will rub off on heavily used areas (seat bolster, steering wheel) within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull for original matte look, Glossy for a slight sheen.
Classics: (1) Damaged area not degreased — paint adheres poorly. (2) Too much material at once — looks like a repair instead of original. (3) No Top Coat — repair comes undone. With filler + sanding + thin application + Top Coat, it lasts 2+ years.
Probably not for a completely worn steering wheel — we would plan for 2 tubes. For classic 12 o'clock wear of 4–5 cm length, one tube is easily enough for 5–8 repairs.
Care instructions for leather repair dye (Range Rover):
Fluid Leather (Range Rover) is the special solution for spot repairs - individual cracks, scratches or minor scuff marks up to approx. 5x5 cm. Large-area repairs require Leather Colour in 250ml or 1-liter containers.
The high pigmentation and tube form make Fluid Leather extremely economical and precise - even on dark leathers, one coat is often enough for full coverage. However, for repairs over 5x5 cm or entire seat bolsters, the tube content would not be sufficient, and dabbing by hand would be uneconomical. Suede and velour surfaces require Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) anyway, as Fluid Leather would glue the rough structure.
If only 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks are to be repaired, Fluid Leather is the most economical and precise choice. If entire seating areas, steering wheels or door panels are to be restored, it is worth switching to Leather Colour (Range Rover) or the Complete Repair Set (Range Rover) with all components.
