COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather for Fiat: precise spot repair in a 20 ml tube
What is COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather for Fiat? — The highly pigmented repair dye in a 20 ml tube is ideal for precise damage repair on Fiat leather — without elaborate spray equipment.
COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (Fiat) is a liquid, highly pigmented leather repair dye in a 20 ml tube — specially developed for the precise repair of small damaged areas such as cracks, scratches, and color abrasion on Fiat leather interiors. The color is based on original Fiat color samples and can be applied precisely with a brush or sponge.
- 20 ml tube for spot repairs – Precise dosage, no spray equipment needed.
- Original Fiat colors – Factory-like pigmentation for invisible repairs.
- High opacity – One application is usually enough — even on dark leathers.
💡 Detailing1 Workshop Tip: We use Fluid Leather (Fiat) in the workshop for steering wheel repairs — classic 12 o'clock abrasion. One tube is enough for 5–8 steering wheel repairs. Use a soft-bristled brush, dab crosswise, let dry for 30 minutes between coats, apply Top Coat Dull — the result is indistinguishable from new.
Degrease the damaged area, dab on specifically, seal with Top Coat
Fluid Leather (Fiat) is applied directly from the 20 ml tube onto a soft brush or sponge and dabbed crosswise onto the repair area in 1–2 thin coats. Allow 20–30 minutes drying time between coats, then seal with Top Coat.
Before repair, the damaged area is cleaned with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Deeper cracks are pre-filled with Filler or Super Filler and sanded smooth with 1000 grit abrasive fleece. The highly pigmented Fluid Leather (Fiat) solution is then dabbed precisely onto the prepared area — applying crosswise in thin layers provides better coverage than a thick application.
After complete drying for about 4 hours, seal with Top Coat Dull or Glossy to make the repair abrasion-resistant. A 20 ml tube is sufficient for 5–8 steering wheel repairs or about 15 localized crack repairs. Workshop costs per repair are around 10 Euros, a complete steering wheel restoration takes approx. 3 hours including drying time.
Spot repair yes, large areas no
Fluid Leather (Fiat) is the special solution for spot repairs — individual cracks, scratches, or small signs of abrasion up to approx. 5x5 cm. Large-area repairs require Leather Colour in 250 ml or 1-liter containers.
The high pigmentation and tube format make Fluid Leather extremely economical and precise — even on dark leathers, one coat is often enough for full coverage. However, for repairs over 5x5 cm or entire seat bolsters, the tube content would not be sufficient, and dabbing by hand would be uneconomical. Suede and velour surfaces require Nubuk Fresh (Fiat) anyway, as Fluid Leather would stick to the rough texture.
If only 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks are to be repaired, Fluid Leather is the most economical and precise choice. If entire seating groups, steering wheels, or door panels are to be restored, it is worthwhile to switch to Leather Colour (Fiat) or the Complete Repair Set (Fiat) with all components.
For detailers with individual damaged areas
Fluid Leather (Fiat) is the workshop solution for targeted spot repairs — for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who want to precisely repair steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks.
In used car detailing, 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion is a classic. A tube of Fluid Leather costs about 67 Euros and is enough for 5–8 steering wheel repairs — that's material costs of about 10 Euros per repair. With a brush and Top Coat, the total repair effort per steering wheel is 3 hours including drying. The result is indistinguishable from a new steering wheel after 2 weeks of use.
For pure care without damage, Fluid Leather is the wrong approach — Leather Fresh (Fiat) is sufficient there. For complete seat bolsters or entire components, it is worthwhile to switch to Leather Colour. However, for those who want to repair individual damaged areas with OEM color fidelity, the 20 ml tube offers the most economical and precise tool from the COLOURLOCK range.
Available Fiat colors (selection)
Red Leather (Barchetta), Black (Panda 1), Brown (Panda 2), Verde (Panda 3)
What is COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather for Fiat?
COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (Fiat) is a highly pigmented, liquid leather repair dye in a 20 ml tube. It is used for precise repair of small damaged areas on Fiat leather – cracks, scratches, and color abrasion.
How do I apply Fluid Leather (Fiat)?
Clean and degrease the damaged area, fill with filler if necessary, and sand. Apply Fluid Leather directly from the tube onto a brush/sponge and dab precisely onto the repair area. Let it dry, apply a second coat if needed, then seal with Top Coat.
What is the difference from Leather Colour?
Fluid Leather (Fiat) has significantly higher pigmentation and comes in a 20 ml tube – perfect for spot repairs. Leather Colour is available in 250 ml or 1 liter and is sprayed/wiped for larger applications. For a single crack → Fluid Leather, for an entire seat surface → Leather Colour.
Do I absolutely need Top Coat?
Yes – Fluid Leather has no self-sealing properties. Without Top Coat, the repair will wear off within a few weeks in heavily used areas (seat bolster, steering wheel). Use Top Coat Dull for an original matte look, Glossy for a slight sheen.
What are the most common mistakes we see?
Classics: (1) Damaged area not degreased – poor adhesion of the color. (2) Too much material at once – looks like a repair instead of original. (3) No Top Coat – repair comes off. With filler + sanding + thin application + Top Coat, it lasts 2+ years.
Is one 20 ml tube enough for an entire steering wheel?
Probably not for a completely worn-out steering wheel – we would recommend planning for 2 tubes. For classic 12 o'clock abrasion over 4–5 cm length, one tube is easily enough for 5–8 repairs.
