When is Q²M PPF Renew the right choice?

PPF Renew is used when the PPF film shows visible signs of wear but is still structurally intact. Typical application scenarios: fine wash scratches on the film surface (especially visible on dark paints), slight haziness due to UV aging or water spots, dried-on insects or bird droppings that have left streaks, as well as before applying a PPF sealant for an optimal surface. If the film shows deep cracks, delamination, or severe yellowing, replacing the affected film areas is the better choice – Renew cannot repair structural damage.

Application: Correctly use PPF Renew

Thoroughly clean the film before polishing and remove all loose dirt. Apply Q²M PPF Renew to a soft microfiber cloth or a finishing polishing pad. Apply by hand with circular movements or with a polishing machine on a low setting (1–2). Important: do not use too much machine pressure – PPF films react more sensitively to heat than car paint. After polishing, remove residue with a clean microfiber cloth and degrease the surface with Q²M Prep. Immediately afterwards, Q² PPF EVO or Q²M PPF Maintain can be applied.

PPF Renew for self-healing films: Observe special features

Self-healing PPF films (Self-Healing TPU) have the property of self-closing fine scratches through the application of heat. Before using Q²M PPF Renew on self-healing films, check whether existing scratches have already disappeared through self-healing – sometimes hot water or sun warmth is sufficient. If the scratches do not self-heal (for deeper defects or colder temperatures), Q²M PPF Renew can be used. The polish is also compatible with self-healing films and does not damage the self-healing property.
